Fast forward a couple of years and we are on our way to that beautiful continent called South America.  5 weeks, 3 countries, 9 cities, 12 flights, 11 bus rides, 5 ferries, a handful of taxi rides and roughly 200km’s of hiking and we have seen that little dream become a reality!  South America was everything we could have ever hoped for and we feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to experience it.

Unfortunately I couldn’t take along my big cameras due to weight constraints but we were fairly chuffed with the results of our little Canon S95.  Here are just a few highlights from the trip.  Enjoy ♥

Our trip started in a city with the widest street in the world and the best ice-cream we have ever tasted!  Buenos Aires.

Christmas Day bliss ♥

This is their love story: “Jules and I met through work in 2006.  He was in post production and I worked in an agency.  One day while working together, we started chatting about Greece.  I mentioned that I was half Greek and he said that he was too.  Then I asked him if he’d ever been to Greece and he hadn’t.  I had already booked my flights to Greece in June and asked him if he’d like to go with,  as friends.  He said that he would love to.  So I gave him my number and a week later he took me out to dinner.  We had such a fun night out and I thought that he was the most awesome person I’d ever met.  So easy to talk to, funny and so cute.  Three and a half years later he proposed to me while having a picnic on the beach… my two favourite things.”

This is from Caitlin on how Andrew proposed: “Andrew woke me up at 6am on Sunday 29^th May and asked me to come with him to our soon-to-be new farm home.  I wasn’t too keen, as we had had a late night the night before as well as a long trip home.  He did however promise me a cook up breakfast on our return so I obliged.  When he drove up to the gate and opened it, I thought something might be going on because he hadn’t really taken me to see it properly before.  He opened the door for me and told me to go into the lounge.   He had set it all up with champagne and a photo of us he keeps by his bed.  I turned around with tears in my eyes at which point he pulled the ring box out and asked me to marry him.  Then we sat in our lounge for about an hour just the two of us, enjoying the moment.”

For many years before he had even met Meggyn, Nic would pray to God not just for what he wanted in his future wife but also that God would keep her safe every day as she was growing up, to give her strength to make the right decisions in life and become a good person and to give her peace and happiness every day.

Nic finally saw this girl he had been praying for at a mutual friend’s party and he was in love instantly! After numerous attempts by friends to introduce them and Nic feeling like Meggyn was way out of his league it finally happened.  At some point in the evening while talking in a group, Nic and Meg happened to be standing in the same circle talking, a friend walked up and asked each of them what their favourite colour was, they both answered “blue” to which he promptly announced that they had so much in common and slapped a pair of handcuffs(which happened to be floating around the party) on them, tying them together. Nic, although screaming like a girl on the inside, decided not to be an idiot and remove the handcuffs but to play it cool and take Meg to the bar for a drink, where they spent the next 2 hours talking, completely forgetting about the handcuffs and the rest of the party. By the end of the evening Nic, ever so coolly, walked Meg to her car and asked for her number and the rest is history.

This next one reminds me of the Beatles Abbey Road album cover.

Megs recorded a message for Nic before she walked down the isle, lets just say it was the start of the “cry fest” many happy tears.

The speeches were all so heartfelt and touching, I think I might have even sprouted the odd tear.

Taryn met Rob in a geology class of her 3rd year engineering course (he was assisting the lecturer at the time).  Taryn thought he was quite sexy and decided to ask him for help in identifying a few of the rocks.  Rob was only too happy to oblige and so started their love story.  Fast forward 4 years to a proposal in Mauritus and a year and a week after that to the now happy Mr & Mrs Ward :)  Thank you for choosing me to photograph your special day – you are both amazing!
